FAQ – “Dr. Roark, how should I use Essential Oils to clean my animal’s ears to maintain optimal ear health? What oils should I use, and what’s the best way to go about the process?”

ANSWER, FROM DR. ROARK – For cleaning ears, I recommend weekly cleaning with Colloidal silver; or you can use a combination of Apple Cider Vinegar and Alcohol-Free Witch Hazel.

Clean the ears step by step as follows:

1. Place a small amount of the solution into the ear canal.

2. Massage the ear canal gently.

3. Clean the outside of the ear with a cotton round or cotton ball. Use the cotton round or cotton ball to get to where you can see in the ear canal. Never use a cotton swab or force anything into the ear canal.

4. Try to get out as much liquid as possible.

5. Repeat with the other ear.

6. Give Treats!

OPTIONAL EAR SUPPORT RECIPE

Use during an infection.

• 5 drops Arborvitae Essential Oil

• 5 drops Lavender Essential Oil

• 3–5 drops Basil Essential Oil

• 5 drops Frankincense Essential Oil

In a 2 oz. Spray Bottle, combine all ingredients. Top off with Fractionated Coconut Oil. Apply a small amount of this mixture to the base of the ears, being sure not to get any into the actual ear canal. Do this daily when the ears are especially smelly and yucky.

For Cats: Omit Basil Essential Oil from recipe and only use 3 drops of each Essential Oil in a 2 oz. Spray bottle.

PET OWNER TESTIMONIAL

“For oral pet health, Dr. Janet told me to add a couple drops each of FRANKINCENSE and Myrrh Essential Oils to pet toothpaste. I made my own with coconut oil and two drops each of Frankincense and Myrrh Essential Oils. So now when I get out the toothbrushes my dogs come running to get their teeth brushed. The cat, not so much. But their teeth and gums are looking good. Thanks Dr. Janet Roark!”
